Dashboard Mode - Quick filters for interactivity

Dashboard Goal

Understand how sales vary by region and product category, and quickly filter the data to focus on specific segments.

Dashboard Components

• KPI Card - Total Sales: SUM([Sales]) = 2070
• KPI Card - Total Quantity: SUM([Quantity]) = 37
• Bar Chart - Sales by Region: SUM([Sales]) grouped by [Region]
  • East: 450

  • North: 500
• Bar Chart - Sales by Category: SUM([Sales]) grouped by [Category]

Interactivity

The quick filters for Region and Category let users select one or more values. When a selection is made, all dashboard components update automatically:

• KPI cards recalculate totals based on the filtered data.
• Bar charts update to show sales only for the selected regions and categories.
• The detailed sales table shows only rows matching the filter selections.

This allows users to quickly explore sales performance by different segments without changing the dashboard layout.

Self Check

Try this: Add a quick filter selecting only Region = West. Which components update and what changes?

• All components update to show data only for the West region.
• Total Sales KPI changes to 570.
• Total Quantity KPI changes to 10.
• Bar charts show sales only for West region categories.
• Table shows only rows where Region is West.
