Introduction
Sorting in Tableau arranges data in a visual display to make it easier to understand patterns and compare values. It helps you quickly find the highest or lowest numbers or group similar items together.
When you want to see top-selling products from highest to lowest sales.
When you need to compare monthly revenue in order from January to December.
When you want to group customers by their purchase frequency from most to least.
When you want to highlight the smallest or largest values in a chart.
When you want to organize categories alphabetically for easier lookup.
Steps
Step 1: Open your Tableau worksheet

Your data and visualizations appear on screen
Step 2: Click the sort icon on the axis or header you want to sort

The data in the visual rearranges in ascending or descending order

Step 3: Right-click the field in the Rows or Columns shelf and select Sort
