Common Mistakes
Not checking 'Match case' when you want to replace only exact uppercase or lowercase words
The tool replaces all matches regardless of case, which may change unintended text
Check 'Match case' to limit replacements to exact letter case matches
Using 'Replace all' without previewing results
You might replace text you did not intend to change, causing errors
Use 'Find' and 'Replace' buttons to review each change before replacing
Typing partial text in 'Find' but expecting whole cell matches
Partial matches replace inside cells, not whole cells, which may cause unexpected results
Check 'Match entire cell contents' if you want to replace only whole cell matches
Summary
Find and replace lets you quickly locate and change text or numbers in your spreadsheet.
You can customize search options like case sensitivity and whole cell matching.
Always review your replacements carefully to avoid unwanted changes.
