Choose your learning style9 modes available
Introduction
Cell alignment and wrapping help you organize text inside cells so it looks neat and easy to read. Alignment moves text to the left, center, or right, while wrapping makes long text show on multiple lines inside the same cell.
When you want to center a title across a few cells to make it stand out.
When you have a long sentence in a cell and want it to show fully without spilling into other cells.
When you want numbers to line up on the right side for easy comparison.
When you want to make a table look tidy by aligning all text to the left.
When you want to avoid cutting off text that is too long for the cell width.

Before vs After
Before
Cell A1 contains the text 'This is a very long sentence that does not fit in the cell and spills over to the next cell.' and is aligned left with no wrapping, so the text overlaps into cell B1.
After
Cell A1 text is aligned center and wrapped, so the full sentence fits inside the cell on multiple lines without overlapping other cells.
