Entering and editing data in Google Sheets lets you put information into cells and change it easily. This helps you keep your spreadsheet up to date with the right numbers, words, or dates.
When you want to add a new list of names or items to your spreadsheet

Steps
Step 1: Click
- the cell where you want to enter data
The cell is selected and ready for typing
Step 2: Type
- the keyboard
The data appears inside the selected cell
Step 3: Press Enter
- the keyboard
The data is saved in the cell and the selection moves down to the next cell
Step 4: Double-click
- the cell you want to edit
The cell enters edit mode and the cursor appears inside the cell
Step 5: Change or delete
- the text inside the cell
The cell content updates as you type
Step 6: Press Enter
- the keyboard
The edited data is saved and the cell exits edit mode
Step 7: Click
- another cell or press Esc
