Dashboard Goal

See monthly sales and product category sales visually to understand which months and categories perform best.

Dashboard Components

• Monthly Sales Summary Table: Shows total sales per month.
  Formula in cell D2: =SUMIF(A$2:A$9, G2, C$2:C$9) where G2:G5 lists months January to April.
  Example: For January, total sales = 1200 + 800 = 2000
• Column Chart: Monthly Sales
  Data range: Months (G2:G5) and total sales (D2:D5)
  Shows sales per month as vertical bars.
• Bar Chart: Sales by Product Category
  Data range: Product categories (J2:J3) and total sales (K2:K3)
  Formula in K2: =SUMIF(B$2:B$9, J2, C$2:C$9)
  Shows total sales per category as horizontal bars.

Interactivity

Add a filter for Month. When you select a month, the Monthly Sales Table and Column Chart update to show only that month's data. The Bar Chart updates to show sales by category for the selected month only.

Self Check

If you add a filter to show only February, which components update and what do they show?

• Monthly Sales Table: Shows total sales for February (1500 + 700 = 2200).
• Column Chart: Shows a single bar for February with height 2200.
• Bar Chart: Shows sales by category for February: Electronics 1500, Clothing 700.
