Dashboard Goal

This dashboard helps users quickly switch between different filter views using bookmarks. For example, you can save a filter state showing sales only for the East region or only for the year 2023, then jump back to those views instantly.

Dashboard Components
  • KPI Card: Total Sales
    Formula: Total Sales = SUM(Sales[Sales])
    Shows the sum of all sales in the current filter context.
  • Bar Chart: Sales by Region
    Shows total sales for each region.
    Axis: Region
    Values: Total Sales measure
  • Table: Detailed Sales
    Shows Order ID, Region, Year, Product, and Sales columns.
    Updates with filters.
  • Filter Pane
    Contains slicers for Region and Year.
    Users can select filters to change the data shown.
  • Bookmarks
    Bookmark 1: "East Region 2023" - saves filter state with Region=East and Year=2023.
    Bookmark 2: "West Region 2022" - saves filter state with Region=West and Year=2022.
    Bookmark 3: "All Data" - clears filters to show all data.

Interactivity

The slicers for Region and Year let users filter the data shown in the KPI card, bar chart, and table. When a user clicks a bookmark button, Power BI applies the saved filter state instantly, updating all visuals to that state. For example, clicking the "East Region 2023" bookmark sets Region filter to East and Year filter to 2023, so all visuals show data only for that selection.
