Choose your learning style9 modes available
Introduction
Syncing slicers across pages lets you control the same filter on multiple report pages at once. This saves time and keeps your report consistent when you want to apply the same filter everywhere.
When you want to filter sales data by region on all report pages without setting the filter again and again.
When your report has multiple pages and you want users to pick a date range once and see it applied everywhere.
When you create a dashboard with product categories and want the selected category to affect all charts on all pages.
When you want to keep slicer selections consistent for easier comparison across different report pages.
When you want to reduce user effort by syncing slicer choices instead of duplicating slicers manually.

Step 1: Click
- Slicer visual on the report page
The slicer is selected and its options appear in the Visualizations pane
Step 2: Click
- View tab on the ribbon
The View tab options appear
Step 3: Select
- Sync slicers pane checkbox in the View tab

- Sync slicers pane
The slicer appears on the pages where 'Visible' is checked
Step 6: Test the slicer by selecting a filter value

The same filter selection applies on all synced pages, updating their visuals accordingly
Before vs After
Before
Slicer on Page 1 filters data only on Page 1; other pages have no slicer or independent slicers
After
Slicer selection on Page 1 filters data on Page 1 and all synced pages; slicer shows on pages where 'Visible' is checked
Settings Reference
Sync
📍 Sync slicers pane
Controls which pages the slicer filters
Default: Unchecked
Visible
📍 Sync slicers pane
Controls on which pages the slicer is shown
Default: Unchecked
Common Mistakes
Not checking the 'Sync' box for all pages where filtering is needed
The slicer will not filter data on pages without 'Sync' checked, causing inconsistent filtering
Always check 'Sync' for every page that should share the slicer filter
Assuming slicer visibility means syncing filters
A slicer can be visible on a page but not synced, so it won't affect other pages
Check both 'Sync' and 'Visible' as needed to sync filters and show slicers
Summary
Sync slicers let you apply the same filter across multiple report pages at once.
Use the Sync slicers pane from the View tab to control syncing and visibility per page.
Remember to check 'Sync' for pages to share filtering and 'Visible' to show the slicer.
