Bookmarks for filter states in Power BI - Step-by-Step Guide

Introduction
Bookmarks let you save the current view of your report, including filters and slicers. This helps you quickly return to a specific filter setup without reapplying filters each time.
When you want to save a specific filter view to show different sales regions separately.
When you need to create a report page that switches between different product categories with one click.
When you want to prepare a presentation with different filter views ready to show.
When you want users to easily toggle between filtered and unfiltered data views.
When you want to save a complex filter combination to avoid repeating the setup.
Steps
Step 1: Apply the desired filters or slicers on your report page
- Report canvas
The report visuals update to reflect the selected filter state
Step 2: Open the Bookmarks pane
- View tab > Bookmarks pane
The Bookmarks pane appears on the right side of the screen
Step 3: Click Add in the Bookmarks pane

A new bookmark is created with the current filter state saved
💡 Rename the bookmark to something meaningful by right-clicking it and selecting Rename
Step 4: Test the bookmark by changing filters and then clicking the bookmark name

The report returns to the saved filter state when the bookmark is selected
Step 5: Use bookmarks in buttons or navigation
- Insert tab > Buttons > Bookmark
Clicking the button applies the saved filter state from the bookmark
