Dashboard Components
  • KPI Card: Total Sales calculated as Total Sales = SUM(SalesData[Sales]). Result: 1120
  • Bar Chart: Sales by Product sorted descending by Sales. The chart shows products on the vertical axis and sales on the horizontal axis, sorted from highest to lowest sales.
  • Table: Product Sales Table showing Product, Category, and Sales columns sorted descending by Sales using Power BI's sort feature on the Sales column.

Interactivity

Clicking on a product bar in the Sales by Product chart highlights that product in the Product Sales Table. Sorting the table by Sales updates the order immediately. The Total Sales KPI remains the same as it sums all sales.

Self Check

If you add a filter to show only the Stationery category, which components update?

  • The Total Sales KPI updates to sum only Stationery sales (150 + 300 + 100 = 550).
  • The Sales by Product bar chart updates to show only Stationery products sorted by sales.
  • The Product Sales Table updates to show only Stationery products sorted by sales.
Key Result
Dashboard showing total sales and products sorted by sales descending.
