👤 Your Role: You are a sales analyst at a retail company.

📋 Request: Your manager wants to see a clear comparison of total sales by product category and by region for the last quarter.

📊 Data: You have sales data including Product Category, Region, and Sales Amount for each transaction in the last quarter.

🎯 Deliverable: Create a Power BI report page with two visuals: a column chart showing total sales by Product Category and a bar chart showing total sales by Region.

Step 1: Load the sales data into Power BI Desktop by importing the data table.

Use 'Get Data' > 'Excel/CSV' or paste the data into Power BI.

Expected Result

Sales data table appears in Power BI Fields pane with columns TransactionID, ProductCategory, Region, SalesAmount.

Step 2: Create a new measure to calculate total sales amount.

Total Sales = SUM('SalesData'[SalesAmount])

Expected Result

Measure 'Total Sales' is created and sums all sales amounts.

Step 3: Insert a column chart visual on the report canvas.

Drag 'ProductCategory' to Axis and 'Total Sales' measure to Values.

Expected Result

Column chart shows total sales for each product category: Electronics, Clothing, Furniture.

Step 4: Insert a bar chart visual on the report canvas.

Drag 'Region' to Axis and 'Total Sales' measure to Values.

Bar chart shows total sales for each region: North, South, East, West.

Step 5: Format both charts for clarity: add titles, data labels, and adjust colors for accessibility.

Set chart titles to 'Sales by Product Category' and 'Sales by Region'. Enable data labels. Use distinct colors with good contrast.

Expected Result

Charts are easy to read with clear titles and visible sales values.
