Common Mistakes
Clicking only one point or entity when two are needed
The tool cannot create a dimension without enough references
Select two points, edges, or lines to define the dimension fully
Placing dimension text over sketch lines
It makes the sketch hard to read and can cause confusion
Move the dimension text to a clear area before clicking to place
Not pressing Enter after typing a new dimension value
The new value is not applied and the dimension stays unchanged
Always press Enter to confirm the dimension value
Summary
The Smart Dimension tool lets you quickly add and edit measurements in sketches.
It automatically detects the right dimension type based on what you select.
Remember to select enough entities and place dimension text clearly for best results.
