Steps
Step 1: Open your Tableau workbook
- Tableau Desktop start screen or File menu
Your data and existing sheets are visible in the workspace
Step 2: Click the New Story tab at the bottom
- Tabs area below the worksheet
A blank story workspace opens with a default title and caption area
Step 3: Drag a worksheet from the left Sheets pane onto the story workspace
- Sheets pane on the left side
The selected worksheet appears as a story point in the main area
Step 4: Click the caption area below the story point and type a clear explanation
- Caption box under the story point
Your text appears explaining the data shown in the story point
Step 5: Click the New Story Point button (+) on the toolbar

A new blank story point is added for the next part of your story
Step 6: Repeat dragging worksheets and adding captions for each story point
