Dashboard Mode - Data gateway setup

Goal: Connect Power BI to On-Premises Data Sources

This dashboard helps you understand how to set up a data gateway to refresh your Power BI reports with data from your local servers.

Step Number	Action	Description
1	Download Gateway	Get the latest gateway installer from Microsoft website.

Dashboard Components

• KPI Card: Total Setup Steps
  Formula: Count of steps = 7
  Shows total number of steps to complete gateway setup.
• Bar Chart: Step Number vs Action
  Visualizes each step number with its action name for easy overview.
• Table: Detailed Steps
  Shows all columns: Step Number, Action, Description for reference.

Interactivity

Clicking a bar in the Bar Chart highlights the corresponding row in the Detailed Steps Table. This helps focus on one step at a time.

The KPI Card updates automatically if the data changes (e.g., if steps are added or removed).

Self Check

Add a filter to show only steps after Step Number 4. Which components update?

• The KPI Card updates to show total steps after filtering (should show 3).
• The Bar Chart updates to display only steps 5, 6, and 7.
• The Detailed Steps Table shows only those filtered steps.
