Choose your learning style9 modes available
Introduction
A data gateway lets Power BI connect securely to your on-premises data sources. It solves the problem of refreshing reports and dashboards with up-to-date data from local databases or files without moving data to the cloud.
When your sales report needs daily updates from a local SQL Server database.
When you want to refresh Power BI dashboards using Excel files stored on your company network.
When your organization keeps data behind a firewall and you want secure cloud access.
When you schedule automatic data refreshes but your data source is not in the cloud.
When multiple users need to share and refresh reports connected to on-premises data.
