What is it?
Simulating sensors means creating virtual versions of real-world devices like LiDAR, cameras, and IMUs inside a robot simulation environment. These virtual sensors produce data similar to what physical sensors would capture, allowing robots to 'see' and 'feel' their surroundings without actual hardware. This helps developers test and improve robot software safely and efficiently. The simulation runs inside ROS (Robot Operating System), which manages communication between sensors and robot programs.
Why it matters
