Think about what a 'point' represents in drawing.
The POINT command creates a single point object at a specified location in the drawing. It does not divide lines or measure distances.
Consider how the object looks after using DIVIDE.
The DIVIDE command places point objects at equal intervals along the selected object but does not break or split the object itself.
Remember that points are placed at segment divisions including start and end.
DIVIDE creates points at the division marks. For 4 segments, there are 5 points including start and end.
Think about how DIVIDE places points without breaking the polyline.
DIVIDE places points evenly spaced along the polyline including start and end, resulting in 4 points for 3 segments.
Check the visibility settings of points in your drawing.
If the point style is too small or set to invisible, points created by DIVIDE will not be visible even though they exist.
