LEN function in Google Sheets - Step-by-Step Guide

Introduction

The LEN function counts how many characters are in a text string. It helps you find the length of words, sentences, or any text in a cell. This is useful when you want to check or limit text size.

When you want to count how many letters are in a name or word.

Steps

Step 1: Click

The cell is selected and ready for input

Step 2: Type

Common Mistakes
