Electric vehicles (EVs) need to convert battery power (DC) into motor power (AC). SiC (Silicon Carbide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride) are special materials used in power devices that switch electricity on and off very fast with less energy loss. This fast switching means less heat and better efficiency, helping EVs run longer and smoother. The power device switches the battery's DC power rapidly, then the inverter changes it to AC power for the motor. SiC devices are very efficient and handle heat well. GaN devices switch even faster and allow smaller, lighter designs. This process repeats continuously to control the motor's speed and torque, making the EV move smoothly and efficiently.
