Step 1: Add a new column next to Sales Amount named 'Rounded (Nearest Whole)'. Use the ROUND function to round each sales amount to the nearest whole number.
=ROUND(B2, 0)
Expected Result
For 23.45, the result is 23; for 19.99, 20; for 45.67, 46.
2
Step 2: Add another column named 'Rounded Up (Ceiling)'. Use the ROUNDUP function to always round each sales amount up to the nearest whole number.
=ROUNDUP(B2, 0)
Expected Result
For 23.45, the result is 24; for 19.99, 20; for 45.67, 46.
3
Step 3: Add a third column named 'Rounded Down (Floor)'. Use the ROUNDDOWN function to always round each sales amount down to the nearest whole number.
=ROUNDDOWN(B2, 0)
Expected Result
For 23.45, the result is 23; for 19.99, 19; for 45.67, 45.
4
Step 4: Copy the formulas down for all rows to apply rounding to all sales amounts.
Drag the fill handle from row 2 down to row 9 for all three rounding columns.
Expected Result
All sales amounts are rounded correctly in each new column.
Final Result

ROUND rounds to the nearest whole number, up or down depending on decimal.
ROUNDUP always rounds the number up to the next whole number.
ROUNDDOWN always rounds the number down to the previous whole number.
These rounding methods help in pricing decisions by showing different ways to adjust sales amounts.
Bonus Challenge

Create new columns that round the sales amounts to the nearest 0.5 using ROUND, ROUNDUP, and ROUNDDOWN.

Show Hint
Multiply the sales amount by 2, apply the rounding function, then divide the result by 2.
